221 South Oak Restaurant, Telluride, CO

Recently, we were lucky enough to be taken on a ski getaway to Telluride, Colorado with my in-laws. S wanted to take me to dinner one evening, so we walked around the town and stumbled across 221 South Oak Bistro. My request was something truffle-y, and sure enough, the menu stated ‘truffle’ so I was in! Not to mention that the chef at 221 South Oak Bistro was none other than Eliza Gavin. You may or may not recognize her from Top Chef Seattle!

Sourdough and honey wheat bread. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse, Seattle, WA

S had an amazing week at work, so we wanted to go out and celebrate. We decided to go to Sullivan’s Steakhouse, in hopes for a lovely evening.

Take a look at what we dined on:

Complimentary Warm Bread

Bread should always be served warm in my opinion. I generally don’t like bread, but it’s definitely more enticing when it’s served warm. This loaf was a little too crusty for my liking, but props for the temperature and the whipped butter. Isn’t it the worst when your bread is served cold, accompanied with rock hard butter? Yes.

Crab Cake

This crab cake was pretty good! There was barely any filler – except for a few crunchy celery bits, otherwise it was ALL crab. Just the way I like it!

Won Jung Gak, Edmonton, AB

Lately, I have been traveling back home to Edmonton a lot. One of the things that I look forward to most is going to Won Jung Gak. A good friend of S’s introduced him to the place, and in turn, I was introduced to this place, and I’m nothing but thankful!

I must admit, I was a little skeptical at first. Korean food is not traditionally one of my favorites, or wasn’t, until I tried Won Jung Gak. There are two locations, and the original location is a little bit sketchy, but what a gem!!

Service Button

This is a button located on every table. You push it, and it calls the server. Or is supposed to… We tried it and if it worked is still debatable. Regardless, a great idea!
