Whilst walking back to our hotel after spending two hours around Time Square, Cath & I walked past Magnolia Bakery. We backtracked because it was such a quaint looking place AND packful with people. We got curious and walked in.

I was intrigued by the huge selection of baked goods and hot drink choices:
Our goodies were nicely packed into this cute box:
I ended up picking:
Apple Crisps $3
This was pretty good. The crisp was nice and crunchy with a oatmeal-y taste without the large pieces that gets stuck to the teeth. The apple was nice & tart with hints of cinnamon and it was cooked down but not too much so it had a little bite to it.
.
Chocolate Pudding Pie $3
I loved this. The chocolate pudding was smooth, creamy and sweet ( it tasted nothing like instant pudding). I loved the fresh cream on the top that helps even out the sweetness. I polished this off in seconds!
.
Hot Chocolate (L) $2.50- A little too sweet for our taste. It was like drinking a whole mouthful of sugar. Quite disappointing and we did not drink more than 2 sips each.

Total Damage: $8.50
Personal Rating: 3.25 out of 5 (Good)
The two items I tried were well above average (maybe except the hot chocolate). Service-wise, the people working there were friendly and very willing to answer any questions, eventhough it was packed! I did feel a little rushed to order because of the crowd.
I am ashamed to say the name Magnolia Bakery sounded familiar, and I had no clue what they were famous for. I kept forgetting to head back to try the White Chocolate Macadamia Cheesecake that sounded amazing (but they were sold out when I was there). Then I was told they have great cupcakes. I guess I will just have to go back the next time I am in NYC!
