New look for my blog~ it’s kinda cute-sy and I prolly won’t keep it this way for long. But for now, until I find another suitable one.
So episode 4! 4 weeks?! I can’t believe this. lol. I am not doing too bad as a housewife. *dies* So, we went grocery shopping and bought a bunch of stuff I am sooo excited about. I think the best part was the Filipino grocery store called Seafood City. It’s very asian but clean and instead of the normal chinese instrumental music that plays in Asian stores, this one had tagalog songs.
This grocery store was pretty big and coolest part is the seafood section. Cheap fresh meats and fish. You get to pick your fish, then have to option of getting them to clean and deep fry it for you. This was a major plus for me since I don’t like the smell of grease after frying fish. =) yeay!
And and and I found yummy snacks. We have sooo much junkfood at home but I could not help myself when I saw these:
and then more snacks that I didn’t take pics of coz my camera ran out of battery.
Not much happened last week. I stayed at home all week other than heading out to the Filipino grocery store on Friday and then SF on Saturday with Chris. We had dimsum after he had hockey and then went to Ranch 99 to pick up some stuff so I can make myself some green bean dessert. yummm… Watched Legends of the Fall at midnight…
Now it’s Sunday, we just came home from the bookstore! I love that place… And gonna head out to check out this Japanese grocery store called Mitsuwa that’s suppose to be pretty kick-ass as far as japanese grocery store goes. lol… I m such a loser i know!
On the menu last week -
Monday – Ribs that I had in the oven for 3 hours and then on the grill served w sweet potato mash (myself) and regular mash (chris)
and of course his bento was the ribs shredded up w bbq sauce n broccoli
Tuesday – Fried rice w bbq pork (from the leftover ribs) w luncheon meat (aka SPAM)…
weds- Japanese curry served with roti (aka murtabak) & rice
thurs- home made kolomee served with ginger pork n crispy onions.
fri- got lazy and had we bought 12 pieces of fried chicken for $9.99 from ChowKing (part of Seafood City). pretty good filipino style fried chicken! and I made a sweet sour sauce for the deep fried tilapia I bought at Seafood City
and finally the menu ends w saturday – Grilled mackerel. yummm… Chris loves this so he ate one whole fish on his own w no rice. served with long beans. mmmm
Meepy n I got back from Mitsuwa Marketplace. A pretty nice japanese grocery store. It has everything you could think of. problem is… everything is in japanese!!! some selected few had detailed information in english on the packaging. There is prolly lotsa cool authentic ingredients that would be cool to cook w, but until I know more about japanese cooking, I don’t think I would get much from this store.
Our purchases!!!
And when we got back, I made some kimchi udon with a combination of ingredients I got from Ranch 99 and Mitsuwa
I LOVE KIMCHI~~
CUTE mushrooms I got for only 99 cents!!!
and with onion, beef, seasoning… we get…
and now I am gonna make myself some coffee n ice cream and call it a nite~
Till next episode~
