Brunch at Bouchon just because.
Bouchon is another one of Thomas Keller’s popular restaurants. A cheaper option than famed The French Laundry with a more approachable conventional menu. The first Bouchon opened in Napa and now there is also one in Vegas, right in the Venetian on their tenth floor.
When we got there at about noon on Sunday, we were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. They suggested sitting at the bar or lounge and grabbing a coffee~ We ended up waiting for about only 15 minutes and was seated.
Menu was simple but everything was pretty enticing (Check out the full menu on the website).
Once we have ordered; we were served the Epi bread that is dumped right on the table along with a side of butter & jam. ( I placed the bread on the plate for picture purposes).
The bread was nice and crusty; butter was smooth and delicious; but the jam was strange. It tasted like the filling that goes in apple pies. The sweet sticky stuff that you get when you eat warm hot sweet apple pie. A little too sweet and syrupy for me.

Meep & I started w coffees, and he got an orange juice as well.

Bouchon French Toast $12
Bread pudding style with warm layers of brioche, custard & apples. Served with maple syrup.
Delicious!!! This was so moist, cakey, sweet, gooey with hints of cinnamon- and every good thing you expect out of a great bread pudding. It is definitely more of a dessert than breakfast. I could not finish it myself but it would be great to split this along w a savoury option.
.
Croque Madame $18.95
Toasted ham & cheese on brioche with a fried egg & mornay sauce served w french fries
This was “the” dish that always comes highly recommended. I was not sure what to expect because I have never had a Croque Madame, but was definitely not disappointed.
Every component of the dish was great even on its own. I mean, look at the beautiful yolk; the amount of thinly sliced ham, the brioche and the smooth creamy sauce.
The french fries were like fancy McDonald’s fries. I say that with love because I am addicted to McD fries. I could not stop eating them – they were perfectly salted, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Fresh versions of McD fries, is that possible? Now these are my #1!!!

Total Damage: $55 (including 2 coffees, 1 juice , tax & tip)
Personal Rating: 4 out of 5 (Very Good)
Everything about our brunch was very good. The service was not flawless; I was not offered any coffee refills for a good half hour until I got someone’s attention. And the server never asked us how everything was. We were actually ok about the lack of service since I was enjoying the food.
But I do need to try more of the items – especially the chicken & waffles or steak frites~
We actually went back the next day (Monday) but they were not open.
