Crawdaddy (Revisited) – San Jose, CA

After 4 visits, and I decided to update my last entry on Crawdaddy. Meep and I went there on a Saturday afternoon after having the worse cravings for Seafood a couple nights ago. Our original plan was to head to Boiling Crab but the wait was over an hour for 2.30 pm on a Saturday!! Ridiculous.

So Crawdaddy it was.

.

We ordered:

Garlic Butter Cajun Shrimp – $10.88/lb

We got one lb of the shrimp (mild) and added 4 sausages (50 cents each).  It always comes to the table piping hot~ Again, it was fresh, sweet and cooked perfectly.

I loved being able to suck at the head of fresh shrimp.

.

Boiled Crab $13.88/lb

We got the crab in the same garlic butter cajun seasoning. This was probably useless because the crab won’t taste like the seasoning but it was great to dip the nice chunks of flesh into the “sauce”

I was surprised at how fresh and sweet these were. There were lots of “brains” in the shell and it tasted delicious. A new favourite for sure… Mind you, it gets very messy with this crab because it is not pre-cracked but comes whole and intact.

.

Other visits we loved the:

Crawfish (but not the corn)

The crawfish is always perfectly cooked. Sweet, tender and oh so juicy.

.

Fresh oysters

.

Sweet potato fries – Always piping hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

.

.

Overall damage (including tax + tip) = $40

Personal rating = 4 out of 5(Great)

As our number of visits increase, and we try more on the menu – my opinion of this place gets better and better. Prices are amazing for the quality and quantity of seafood. Food remains consistent on all 4 trips over the past 6 months.
