A Housewife’s Tale episode 149

I apologise for not updating for over 3 weeks and am missing Week 147 & 148. To be honest, I did not cook at all for the past two weeks and have nothing to blog about homecooking-wise.  Hopefully the next few posts will make up for it.

Since I was so horrible at updating in June because I got completely overwhelmed with work and could not maintain a good balance. I was sooooo close to throwing in the towel and just leaving the blog for a short while BUT now with a little more breathing room and having just got back from 6 days in Canada, I think I am gonna give this another shot. Hopefully will be back on track real soon!!! Starting off with the food recap from July 1st, 2012~

Sunday – The SILs and I started our morning with brunch at Hotel Saskatchewan.

Dinner was – The Yee family reunion in Regina (Canada) in Dynasty Restaurant for a surprisingly tasty Asian Buffet~ I am embarrassed to say I didn’t take any pictures since I was famished and just started stuffing my face.

.

Monday - Happy Canada Day!!! We spent mid afternoon paying respect to the Yee great grandparents and more. Then follow by a picnic at Wascana Park, which was super fun.

Dinner was at Uncle K’s, where we pigged out on some Houston Pizza, 2 for 1 Pizza, leftover chicken and Roast Pork belly.

.
.

Tuesday - Spent the morning at Meep’s grandparent’s grocery store (or it used to be before it was sold).

Followed by lunch at Little Saigon.

Dinner was w Uncle K’s family, UB & Aunt Linda at a pasta place. The kids, Meep and JJ had way too much fun with the toy vending machines. Foodwise, I was impressed with the fresh made pasta but not really the sauces.

.

Wednesday – Happy Fourth of July!!!! Back to San Jose! It felt good to be home because we were exhausted with all the late nights. We got home at 2 ish and was out cold till 9 pm. I had to find a place that would feed us at 10 pm, and found Pho Mai that opens till 4 am!!!! The best part is – the food was actually quite good!!!!!!

.
.

Thursday – Back to work!!! It felt nice to be back and with our deadline over, have some time to plan out the action items for July. I managed to get home by 6 ish and go pick up some groceries from Safeway. They had marinated Tony Roma’s ribs on sale so I got some for dinner.

.
.

Friday - No cooking for this lady! Worked from home so that I could go see the dermatologist mid afternoon. On my way home, I decided to drive to Layang Layang and pick up some lunch/dinner. Best idea ever because again – the food was delicious and reminded me of home. I got some Hockien mee (I am obsessed with Hockien mee since I was a teenager), Beef Rendang and Kangkong Belacan. *loves*

.
.

Saturday – Pool Party!!!! Hung out at V’s by the pool side, pigged out on some amazing cuts of meat and lotsa drinks. The pool was super refreshing on this HOT day, which was perfect for BBQ and just lazing around.

.

Summer has been beautiful, hopefully there will be more exciting weekends coming up to write about~
