The next couple of weeks are gonna be a doozy! Eating around San Diego along with some trip highlights will be shared along with another feast (for no particular reason, which makes it even more awesome~)
Sunday – V will be going back to HK for a little bit so we had a little going away meal at Tai Pan in PA.
Meep and I went grocery shopping right after and got amazing Salmon Steaks at Ranch99 so I marinated it with Miso and we had it with some Pea Shoots~
.
Monday – I was having a major craving for Five Guys while at work so Meep and I went to Five Guys for dinner – Five Guys burgers and Cajun Fries~ yummmm ^_^
.
.
Tuesday - Salmon & Shrimp curry with Ladyfingers/Okra! I meant to cook dinner but remembered we have some Curry Spice my mom sent over last year that needed to be used realll soon.
.
.
Wednesday - I made so much curry that there were tons of leftovers. So we had more curry with some roti and rice.
.
Thursday – Meep and I went out to eat because I didn’t want to cook and have some dishes pile up. Picked up some Pho ~
.
Friday - Easter long weekend!! We finally made our way to San Diego eventhough we have been talking about it for a while. It was sort of an impulsive decision when we booked it but I am so glad we did end up going. Soon after arriving, we made our way straight to JR’s home to see new baby E. Her mom prepared some Honduran “Fish & Chips” and it was amazing! I ate a whole fish and a plate full of plantain chips.
We picked up Sushi for everyone as well:
Dinner was more fish at Escape Fish Bar near our hotel: This is the Special – Seabass with cilantro rice.
.
.
Saturday – Spent the whole day at the world famous San Diego Zoo and had a blast! Before heading to the zoo, we made it to Mission and waited a good half hour for brunch but it was darn worth it coz we stayed full throughout the 6 hours in the zoo~
Random fun fact: I got to feed a giraffe!!!
Dinner was at Sushi Ota that was known as one of the Best sushi places in SD. I opted for the Chef’s Omakase and we were blown away. I have never had such great sashimi – I mean, our sweet shrimp head was still moving on our plates. The experience was a little rushed because their bar seating was all booked up but the food was definitely michelin worthy! Sharing the best uni and chu-toro (Fatty tuna belly) that we had, look at the marbling on that tuna!!
.
Not to leave you hanging but the week ends here! We were in San Diego for 3 days (way to short a trip in my opinion) and can’t wait to plan our next trip back. But our Easter weekend was everything I had hoped for and a much needed break from work (horrible thing to say since I have only been working for 2 whole months). I never knew I would look forward to long weekends as much as I do now. ah well…
Till next time!
