Hard Rock Cafe – Las Vegas, NV

First stop after checking in to the Vdara while making our way to Mandalay~ The intent was to eat at Mandalay since my parents in law were checked in there but they made their way to Vdara and we decided to eat somewhere in the middle before heading back to Mandalay. Youngest SIL’s S refused to eat at Harley Davidson’s out of principle so we figured Hard Rock Cafe would be a good substitute for a quick lunch!

Menu is extensive with Appetisers, Burgers, Salads, Sandwiches, BBQ items & Desserts!!

We ordered:

Jumbo Combo $21.95

Santa Fe Spring Rolls, Hickory Chicken Wings, Onions Rings, Potato Skins & Tupelo Chicken Tenders

Onion rings were very good – lightly battered and super crispy with soft sweet onion. The potatoe skins were pretty good as well with sour cream. The wings were a tad dry and disappointing. I didn’t try the spring rolls or chicken tenders.

BBQ Trio Combo $27.95 Substitute Onion Rings $3.50

BBQ Ribs, BBW Chicken & Smoked Pulled Pork served with fries, ranch beans & fresh coleslaw

The portion size was a tad disappointing for $34.45 no? I could have done with more chicken because the chicken was fantastic. There was a nice smoky flavour from the grill with nice crisped skin and super moist, tender and flavourful meat. The sweet salty BBQ sauce was delish!

The pulled pork sandwich was pretty good – smokey, tender and so moist with the same BBQ sauce over it. Served w a slice of toasted bread. The portion size was a tad skimpy.

I didn’t care too much for the ribs that was tough, stringy and dry. The beans and coleslaw was OK.

Legendary 10 oz Burger $15.75

Topped with seasoned bacon, two slices of Cheddar, crisp fried onion ring, lettuce, tomato & pickles. Served with fries.

I didn’t try this but my Dad in law polished it off – so it should be pretty decent :)

BBQ Sandwich $12.95

Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich served with fries.

Same Pulled Pork as the one in the trio but a little over double the size and served on the burger bun rather than a slice of toast.

Budweiser $5.30
Shock Top $5.80
Soda $3.59
Mango Tango $4 – pretty darn tasty n refreshing for a non alcoholic drink~

Total Damage: $127.09 (including tax & tip)

Personal Rating: 2.75 out of 5 (Pretty average)

Food is pretty average overall except the onion rings & BBQ chicken which was very good. It is a massive place with fairly extensive menu so it is good for big groups or a more casual quick bite. Prices are pretty expected for a “Hard Rock Cafe” and a place right on the Strip!

I was quite entertained by the random pictures and stuff displayed all over their walls of the “legends” and the music that was playing throughout our meal. My dad is law was loving the music and videos that were playing and walking down memory lane. It was adorable!
