On my last night in Edmonton, I went out for dinner with the family at Sorrentino’s in the West End.
It was garlic festival at Sorrentino’s!! The garlic menu was way more appealing to me, compared to the regular menu~ I ordered and Appy and main course of this menu, while the rest of the family ordered from the regular menu.
A & I shared the escargot with mushrooms and puff pastry in a garlic cream sauce. *loves*
M in Law liked dipping her garlic bread in the sauce.
Alberta Beef Ribeye $32
I ordered the Alberta rib eye – a seared 45 day ages 10 oz piece of rib eye with a Italian black garlic butter sauce concoction. I was blown away by how good this piece of meat was. The sauce felt a little salty towards the end but it was still delish! I opted for the pasta in tomato sauce rather than potatoes n veg. The pasta exceeded my expectation.
D in Law ordered the pan roasted halibut – in a saffron cream sauce.
He picked fetuccine alfredo for his side dish. Looked good but I didn’t wanna take a bite because it was a not a filling portion of food.

Assorted seafood pasta with a choice of white wine sauce or spicy tomato sauce. H got penne instead of linguine and opted for the wine sauce . There was a generous amount of seafood but a little too salty (to me). She liked it tho~
M in law ordered the same dish but with the spicy tomato sauce, which looked better.
S ordered the Penne Arrabiate – penne tossed with spicy rosemary tomato sauce and italian sausage. I tried it and found it a little boring.
A ordered the Capelline Favolisi – angel hair pasta with seafood, tossed in olive oil, chicken broth and shallots. I found this just ok.
*note that at this point, I was busy eating and didn’t think of taking pictures.
Personal Rating - 3.25 out of 5 (Good)
Verdict – I say go and try out the Garlic Festival menu (featured from Apr 7th till May 7th), which featured pretty awesome dishes! The normal pasta dishes were good but nothing to die for~ Some were definite hits, some were more average but nothing was below average and pretty good overall.
