Cafe Bellagio – Las Vegas, NV

After lounging by the pool and splitting a massive burger with Meep, I was more than ready for a full meal mid afternoon. Before heading to the airport, we met up w Cuz C & M for a quick bite and she suggested Cafe Bellagio.

Cafe Bellagio is located right next to the gorgeous Bellagio garden showcasing a range of massive pumpkins!! I love checking out the different settings depending on the seasons/festivities. The restaurant was surprisingly large and opens into the Bellagio garden which is really nice especially with the seats we got right on their “terrace”. It is really bright in the garden so it felt like we were eating outdoors eventhough we were not.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner menu is served all day regardless of the time so there is definitely something for everyone.

We ordered:

Breakfast menu :
Pacific Smoked Salmon $15

Served with Toasted Bagel, Cream Cheese, Red Onion, Sliced Tomatoes & Capers

The smoked salmon was OK but not great.. not the best quality and a teeny bit slimy but it was a massive portion! The cream cheese just tasted like the average grocery brand. Overall, nothing exciting.

.

Bellagio Classic $16.95

Maine lobster, Asparagus, Tomatoes, Mozzarella Cheese, Hash Browns, Roasted Tomato & Toast

There was barely any lobster and when I find the odd piece, it was rubbery and tough. The egg was also a little rubbery (not the least bit creamy and soft) and quite tasteless. The random bits of asparagus and tomatoes add nothing to it Hashbrowns were OK though.

.

Banana Foster Waffle $14

The waffle looked really good when served. It had a nice crisp crust even with all that syrup it was swimming it. The bananas were not cooked down as much as I would expect when I read Banana Foster. The whole dish was way too sweet, even with four individuals sharing one waffle, we could not finish it. It was like eating a mouthful of sugar at every bite…

.

Lunch & Dinner menu:
Reuben $14.50

Shaved Cornedd Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese, Thousand Island Dressing on Grilled Rye Bread & side of Onion Rings

The one dish that we all raved over. The sandwich was delicious! Just the right amount of meat & sauerkraut with buttery grilled bread. The onion rings that came with were fresh made and delicious as well – crispy on the outside with sweet soft onion on the inside. Yummmm

.

Extras:
Coffee - Complimentary! I don’t know why we didn’t get charged for it but can’t say I am complaining.
Iced Tea $4.50
Coke $4.50
The drinks were quite pricey but it is refillable. And I loved that my coffee came with a pot so I can keep topping it up without looking for a server.

Total Damage: $94 (including tax & tip)

Personal Rating: 2.75 out of 5 (Pretty average)

The food was not bad; couple dishes were average while the rest were borderline average. Quite pricey considering the quality of the dishes… Hard to justify because there are lots of amazing places for brunch/breakfast/lunch all along the Strip.

Service was great though. Very attentive considerin how massive the place was.
